20. kattaus: Ravut kukkamaljakossa / 20th Setting: Crayfish in a flower vase

Viime viikon lopulla lupasin lisää ideoita rapujen esillepanoon (scroll down for English post). Ja voilà: saanko esitellä ravut kukkamaljakossa. Eikä missä tahansa maljakossa vaan Aalto-maljakossa (kirkas, keskikokoinen). Aalto-maljakkotarjoilu sopii myös fiineihin rapupöytiin ja pellavapöytäliinoille. Ja sopisipa tarjoilutapa ehkä jopa Ravintola Savoyn rapupöytään. Savoyhan on 1930-luvulla suunnitellun vaasin toinen nimi ja sillä on Alvar Aallon suunnitteleman ravintolan kanssa yhteistä historiaakin. Suuria rapuja menee sopivasti noin 14 per maljakko. Koristele kukkakimppumaisella kruunutillillä. Tilliä voi pistää silputtuna myös pienimpään Aalto-maljakkoon.
Last week I promised more ideas for crayfish parties. And may I present you: crayfish in a flower vase. And not just in any vase but in Aalto vase (clear, middle size). Aalto vase is the most famous flower vase in Finland designed by architect Alvar Aalto. Alvar Aalto designed mainly buildings in Finland but the operahouse of Essen is also of his signature. Aalto vase with crayfish looks good also in finer crayfish tables and on linen table cloth. Fourteen big crayfish per vase is a good amount, use dill to decorate.

As said earlier in crayfish parties people sing and drink schnapps while eating crayfish. So schnapps glasses are essential in crayfish party table settings. For this particular table setting I chose a glass that was bought from Stockholm's Vasa museet's museum shop. It is made in 17th century style. The other glass is from Key West's legendary Sloppy Joe's restaurant.
