Vappu (scroll down for English post). Tyyliä, mutta rentoa. Lähdin rakentamaan bistrosta inspiraatiota saanutta kattausta. Ruutukuvioiset Asp Holmbladin Checks red -servietit sopivat astiastoon, Iittalan Taika. Sini-puna-valkoiset vappuserpentiinit (Happy Party) Kaj Franckin Kartio-kynttilänjalkojen välissä ja kynttiläkruunussa, ilmapallot (Tigerista ostetut punaiset sydämet) ja koristeet valittiin astioihin ja servietteihin sopiviksi. Vapun kuohuvat tarjottiin eriparisista samppanjalaseista Pentikiä, Stockmann Villaa, Tapio Wirkkalan suunnittelema Ultima Thule ja Göran Hongellin Aarne.
First of May is a big celebration in the Nordic countries. It's a celebration of students, spring and the working class. For the celebration I built a table inspired by a bistro. The check patterned paper napkins by Asp Holmblad looked good with Iittala's Taika plates. The blue, red, white colored serpentine and red heart-shaped balloons were a perfect decoration match. The sparkling drinks of the First of May were served from odd champagne glasses by Pentik, Stockmann Villa, Iittala Ultima Thule (design by Tapio Wirkkala) and Aarne (design by Göran Hongell). Aarne and Ultima Thule are probably the two most world famous glasses of Finnish design.
